We are proud to announce the creation of an Online List of Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame Members!
Its permanent link, Hall of Fame Members, has joined the other points of interest in the Discover menu to the left. We hope you'll check it out!
We are excited to provide the list in its entirety...but there is much more to come! Our website team is working toward linking each inducted person and attraction to stories about their valued contributions to the Mother Road. Consider it an ongoing labor of appreciation to make this information available to all here on the site.
The Route 66 Association of Illinois was recently contacted by Tom Huber, map librarian at the Illinois State Library in Springfield, Illinois, who brought to our attention an amazing project. The Illinois State Library, a division of the Illinois Secretary of State’s office has made available Online Maps of the State of Illinois from 1917 to 1992!
A map for every year that the Secretary of State’s office published a map (some years it did not) is included in the collection which can be viewed at the Illinois Digital Archives.
Please join our association's efforts to preserve, promote, educate and enjoy Route 66 in Illinois. Proceeds from membership dues are responsibly allocated to fund projects for the upkeep and promotion of the Mother Road. We greatly appreciate each and every one of our members!
