Help Waterproof Bob Waldmire's Bus

Saturday, August 2, 2014 - 10:00am

Bob and his bus.jpgOur Preservation Chairman, John Weiss, is looking for a few volunteers to (waterproof) coat the exterior wood items on the Waldmire bus, located behind the Route 66 museum in Pontiac.

Says John, "We need to protect it in order to Preserve it. The weather is doing a lot of damage."

True to our motto, "We work for food," lunch will be provided by the Route 66 Association.

Ladders will be needed for this project, so if you can bring one, please do!

Call John Weiss at 815-458-6616 if you are able to help with this preservation project.

Should it be necessary, the rain date for this project will be Saturday, August 23rd.

Route 66 and Social Media

By Marcia Gascho

I love Facebook! In the past few years my husband and I have discovered how easy it is to share photos with many of our friends. Because we take several Route 66 trips a year, we started a Facebook page just to post our vacation photos. The page is called “Route 66 Journeys with Bruce and Marcia.” We have 80 members, some are “famous” and some are international. Often when I see my Facebook friends in person, they comment on how much they enjoy looking at our Route 66 adventures.
