Strevell House Gets New Lawn

Our thanks to Pontiac, IL tourism director, Ellie Alexander, for providing the following press release for us to share:

The exterior appearance of the historic Strevell House in Pontiac, Illinois, recently underwent a major, and quite noticeable, improvement. After months of preparation, the weedy, patchy, and neglected lawn at the 1855-era home has been completely replaced with new sod. Under the direction of Collins Miller, a member of the Livingston County Historical Society’s Strevell House Committee, workers unloaded and placed new grass at the 401 West Livingston Street location.

Actress Pam Brown will again portray Mary Lincoln in The Ultimate Betrayal, in which the former First Lady describes the trial, her incarceration, and how she was finally released due in large part to articles published by the press. Donna Daniels, a member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters and a founding member of the Mary Lincoln Coterie, is the author of this presentation.
