Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Is Calling!

While we here at the Route 66 Association of Illinois strive to "preserve, educate, promote and enjoy" the Mother Road, there is another organization that strives to support the towns and business that bring the road alive. That organization is the Red Carpet Corridor. The Corridor runs for a 90 mile stretch along Route 66 from Joliet to Towanda serving up a charming and welcoming slice of Americana.

Of course the Corridor exists every day of the year, welcoming visitors yearning to experience the simple pleasures of rural life. Beginning in 2007, The Red Carpet Corridor has hosted a festival the first full weekend in May. Each community along Route 66 plans something special for that weekend such as bands, vendor booths and entertainment to showcase their special brand of hospitality  Be sure to consult our Calendar to learn about specific events scheduled by the towns and businesses along the Corridor on that weekend!
