Emory Duick, a 71 year old man from Des Plaines, IL, is accomplishing an amazing feat - he is walking Route 66! Yes indeed, you read right - he started walking on June 2, 2009 from Des Plaines and he is walking the length of Route 66! In fact, he's already traveled 1,300 miles, at the rate of 10 miles a day! He is presently approaching Albequerque, NM for the home stretch, 1,100 miles more to Santa Monica, CA.

Wow. I hope he's logging his activity on the AARP "Get Fit on Route 66" web site!
