Farewell and Happy Retirement to Don Schlosser, driver of the Jolly Trolly and a lifelong resident of Pontiac, IL.
Don has been volunteering to drive the Jolly Trolly giving personalized city tours of Pontiac and other events for fifteen years. He gave tours to Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum visitors every Saturday from May to October for ten years, providing insights and history as only he could.
On 10/22/2022, Rose Geralds, Buddy Miller, Dave Sullivan, Alan Finkenbinder, Kathy Miller, and a few others rode in the Jolly Trolley during Don’s last regularly scheduled Saturday Trolley Tour of Pontiac.
Don is a retired Pontiac police officer, where he served for thirty years, including eight years as Police Chief.
The Route 66 Association of Illinois Board Members thank you, Don, for sharing your knowledge of Pontiac. We hope you will enjoy your free Saturdays and don’t forget to stop by the museum and visit us. You’ve had a great run and will truly be missed!
