First Traffic Light South of Chicago
Supposedly the first along US 66 south of Chicago, this signal was at the intersection of US 66 and IL 47, a noted dangerous intersection.
Historic Pioneer Gothic Church
Located just off of the Route at 201 N. Franklin, this wood-framed Carpenter Gothic Church was built in 1857 by the local Presbyterian congregation
Ambler-Becker Texaco
Another member of the Association’s Hall of Fame, our Preservation Committee has assisted in the past with keeping this beautiful example of a service station available for the public to enjoy. Volunteers are often present to talk to visitors about this iconic station. There is a parking lot to the north of the station that contains several photo ops, including a large billboard.
